2. Ball Joint Assembly
Ball Stud: Made from bearing steel, the stud features a carburized, quenched, and ground surface. This ensures high hardness and resistance to wear, allowing for smooth and accurate steering movements.
Ball Seat (Socket): The socket is manufactured from POM rubber and contains a built-in supply of lithium-based grease. Its role is to minimize friction and reduce noise generated between the stud and the socket.
Dust Cover: Chloroprene rubber is employed for its oil resistance and aging resistance. It forms a protective seal that keeps dirt, sand, and moisture away from the internal ball joint components, preventing premature wear.
Preload Spring: A spring steel element that exerts a constant preload force to maintain proper joint contact.
3. Bushing Assembly
Inner Core: This core is machined from 45# steel and protected against corrosion by zinc plating or an electrophoretic coating. It is bolted rigidly to the subframe or knuckle.
Rubber Elastomer: The bushing uses natural rubber in a hydraulic configuration, meaning an internal chamber filled with hydraulic fluid is present. This design delivers high elasticity and fatigue resistance, which helps absorb road impacts and filter out noise. Furthermore, the movement of fluid inside the chamber helps dissipate high-frequency vibrations, resulting in better ride comfort.
Outer Shell: An aluminum alloy shell is attached to the control arm body by either an interference fit or welding. This ensures that the bushing remains securely and durably connected to the arm body.
