2. Ball Joint Assembly
Ball Stud: The ball stud is made from bearing steel. Its surface receives carburizing, quenching, and grinding treatments, resulting in superior hardness and wear resistance for responsive and accurate steering.
Socket: The socket is constructed from POM rubber and pre-packed with lithium grease. This minimizes friction and quiets noise between the ball stud and the socket during motion.
Dust Boot: The dust boot is formed from chloroprene rubber, offering resistance to oil and aging. It seals the ball joint against sand, water, and other harmful contaminants that could cause wear.
Preload Spring: The preload spring is fabricated from spring steel and maintains a steady preload force on the assembly.
3. Bushing Assembly
Inner Sleeve: The inner sleeve is produced from 45# steel, finished with zinc plating or an electrophoretic coating for corrosion resistance. It is rigidly fastened to the subframe or knuckle using bolts.
Rubber Element: The rubber element is made of natural rubber and serves as a hydraulic bushing with internal oil-filled cavities. It possesses high elasticity and strong fatigue resistance, cushioning road impacts and filtering out noise. The hydraulic action also reduces high-frequency vibrations through fluid movement, increasing passenger comfort.
Outer Shell: The outer shell is fabricated from aluminum alloy. It is joined to the control arm body either by interference fit or welding, creating a secure and durable connection between the bushing and the arm.
