The arm body is forged from aluminum alloy using a die forging process. It is 40%–50% lighter than steel arms while retaining high rigidity, which cuts down unsprung mass and improves both handling response and ride comfort.
2. Ball Joint Assembly
Ball Stud: The ball stud is machined from bearing steel. Its surface is carburized, quenched, and ground, giving it the hardness and wear resistance needed for smooth and accurate steering.
Socket: The socket is made of POM rubber and filled with lithium grease. This reduces friction and noise between the ball stud and the socket during movement.
Dust Boot: The dust boot is made from chloroprene rubber, which resists oil and aging. It seals the ball joint against dirt, moisture, and other contaminants that could lead to wear.
Preload Spring: The preload spring is made of spring steel and keeps a constant preload force on the ball joint.
3. Bushing Assembly
Inner Sleeve: The inner sleeve is made of 45# steel with a zinc or electrophoretic coating for rust protection. It bolts directly to the subframe or knuckle for a rigid connection.
Rubber Element: The rubber element is made of natural rubber and functions as a hydraulic bushing with built-in oil chambers. It is highly elastic and resistant to fatigue, absorbing road vibrations and filtering out noise. The hydraulic design also uses oil flow to dampen high-frequency vibrations, enhancing ride comfort.
Outer Shell: The outer shell is made of aluminum alloy. It attaches to the control arm body through an interference fit or welding, ensuring a strong bond between the bushing and the arm.
