1. Control Arm Body
The arm body is formed from forged aluminum alloy using a die forging process. It is 40%–50% lighter than steel arms while still offering high rigidity, which lowers unsprung mass and leads to sharper handling and a smoother ride.
2. Ball Joint Assembly
Ball Stud: The ball stud comes from bearing steel. Its surface goes through carburizing, quenching, and grinding to achieve high hardness and wear resistance, allowing for accurate and smooth steering.
Socket: The socket is made of POM rubber and contains lithium grease inside. This setup reduces friction and stops rubbing noise between the ball stud and the socket.
Dust Boot: The dust boot is made of chloroprene rubber, which resists oil and aging. It seals out sand, moisture, and other contaminants that could cause wear inside the ball joint.
Preload Spring: The preload spring is made of spring steel and applies a constant preloading force to the assembly.
3. Bushing Assembly
Inner Sleeve: The inner sleeve is made of 45# steel with a zinc or electrophoretic coating for rust protection. It bolts directly to the subframe or knuckle for a rigid connection.
Rubber Element: The rubber element is made of natural rubber and acts as a hydraulic bushing with built-in oil chambers. It has high elasticity and good fatigue resistance, soaking up road vibrations and filtering out noise. The hydraulic design also uses oil flow to reduce high-frequency vibrations, enhancing ride comfort.
Outer Shell: The outer shell is made of aluminum alloy. It attaches to the control arm body through an interference fit or welding, ensuring a strong bond between the bushing and the arm.
