The control arm body is formed from forged aluminum alloy using a die forging process. It is 40%–50% lighter than steel arms while offering the same high rigidity, which cuts down unsprung mass and sharpens both handling and ride quality.
2. Ball Joint Assembly
Ball Stud: The ball stud is made from bearing steel. Its surface is carburized, quenched, and ground to achieve outstanding hardness and wear resistance, ensuring precise and smooth steering movement.
Socket: The socket is made of POM rubber and pre-lubricated with lithium grease. This lowers friction and prevents squeaking between the ball stud and the socket.
Dust Boot: The dust boot is made of chloroprene rubber, which resists both oil and aging. It keeps sand, moisture, and other harmful materials out of the ball joint to avoid premature wear.
Preload Spring: The preload spring is made of spring steel and maintains a steady preload force on the assembly.
3. Bushing Assembly
Inner Sleeve: The inner sleeve is machined from 45# steel and coated with zinc or an electrophoretic finish to resist corrosion. It is rigidly bolted to the subframe or knuckle.
Rubber Element: The rubber element consists of natural rubber and serves as a hydraulic bushing with built-in oil chambers. It delivers high elasticity and fatigue resistance, cushioning road impacts and filtering out noise. The hydraulic feature also reduces high-frequency vibrations by moving oil through the chambers, enhancing ride comfort.
Outer Shell: The outer shell is made of aluminum alloy. It attaches to the control arm body via an interference fit or welding, ensuring a strong and lasting bond between the bushing and the arm.
