2. Ball Joint Assembly
For the ball stud, bearing steel is used and then carburized, hardened, and ground. The result is a hard, wear‑resistant surface that allows precise, low‑friction steering. The ball socket, or bearing cup, is molded from POM and contains lithium grease as a factory‑filled lubricant, which keeps friction and noise to a minimum. A chloroprene rubber dust boot provides a durable seal, protecting the joint from dirt, sand, and moisture while resisting oil and aging. Completing the assembly, a spring steel preload spring supplies a continuous preload force to maintain proper joint function over time.
3. Bushing Assembly
The bushing assembly consists of three main elements. The inner core is made of 45# steel with either a zinc or electrophoretic anti‑corrosion coating, and it is bolted rigidly to the subframe or steering knuckle. The rubber elastomer combines natural rubber with a hydraulic bushing that contains an internal oil chamber. This construction offers high elasticity and strong fatigue resistance, allowing the bushing to absorb road impacts and filter out noise. In addition, the hydraulic bushing reduces high‑frequency vibrations through the movement of oil inside its chamber, which further enhances passenger comfort. Finally, the outer housing is manufactured from aluminum alloy and is attached to the control arm by either an interference fit or welding, creating a secure, long‑lasting connection between the bushing and the arm.
