The ball stud is made from bearing steel. Its surface is carburized, quenched, and precision ground to reach a hardness of HRC 58-62. This gives it excellent resistance to wear and impact, delivering precise steering response.
2. Socket
The socket is generally made of POM, a material that naturally offers low friction and self-lubrication, which helps cut down on wear and noise around the ball stud.
Inside the socket, a preload spring made of 65Mn spring steel is installed. This spring takes up any clearance caused by wear, keeping the steering tight and free of looseness.
3. Rod Body (Main Body of the Tie Rod)
The rod body is made of 45# high-quality carbon steel and formed through either cold drawing or forging. Its surface receives an electrophoretic or zinc plating finish, giving it two layers of protection against rust.
